Chris Moline, LEED AP
Chris Moline has a track record of success and has accepted a position with Commercial Carpets of America to head their residential division and maximize the power of the web. With a background in business ownership, LEED Accredited Professional status from the US Green Building Council, and a can-do attitude, business is looking up in a down economy.

Moline's list of accomplishments in sales was recently topped by what he refers to as "the ultimate sale" - the sale of his online and brick-and-mortar flooring business after spending years turning it into an online powerhouse. After reading Michael Gerber's "E-Myth Seminar", he set the goal to sell his business. It was Gerber's admonition "If you're not selling in, you're BUYING it!" that struck home and opened the door for one of the most challenging, and successful, sales processes of his career.
Though out of the Marines for over 15 years, he still credits that style of discipline as one of the reasons for his success... and his ability to maintain a sense of humor in the face of adversity.

Likes:

Confusing the heck out of competitors and leaving them scratching their heads.

Dislikes:

Time wasting and arrogance. That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishments, as long as no one on your team is belittled.

Hard News (CNN and the evening news) - though I have a degree in journalism, no one on the news ever tells me what WILL work... only what DIDN'T work and how bad it COULD be. To heck with them.

When was the last time a talking head REALLY helped you earn more and kept your outlook positive? Although I graduated at the top from one of the best colleges of journalism in the country, had Pulitzer Prize-winning professors and had material considered by the Washington Post, I would rather pound nails than succumb to the cynicism so pervasive in hard-news-oriented journalistic circles. In fact, the highlight of my career as a journalist was the ability to write restaurant reviews and take my then-fiance (now wife) out to dinner to the BEST restaurants in Washington DC... free.

Goals:

Find the perfect balance between work success and family success.

Maintain and develop a deeper relationship with my wife that shows understanding, compassion and true love.

Study my children and know them better than any business deal.

Earn a D License as a pro-rated skydiver and jump onto the playground during recess at their elementary school.

Buy a small island where the water is blue and it never goes below 60 degrees. Use solar power on that island and home school our children again.
And, to never forget that whatever I'm doing, it's of paramount importance to get in front of customers with the right information as much as possible.

Contribute to our military by picking individual Marines to mentor during or after their enlistment.

Maintain a sense of humor... no matter what!

Retire with all my hair, a solid and loving family, and the respect of my peers.

Favorite Quotes:

Too many to list, but here are a couple off the top of my head:

"Some people go to bed at night wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem." - Ronald Reagan

"You either think you can, or think you can't. Either way, you're right!" - unknown, but quoted by Brian Tracy

"Timid salesmen have skinny children" - Zig Ziglar
"The unexamined life is not worth living."
"Attention to friggin' detail, boy!" DI Sgt. Seger, Parris Island - USMC
"Improvise, adapt and overcome!" Clint Eastwood as Gunny Highway in "Heartbreak Ridge"

Most things said by Tony Robbins or Brian Tracy. In fact, I'm mentioned in Jeffry Gitomer's "Sales Bible."

"If I have not love, I am a noisy gong or clanging cymbal" - Paul in 1 Corinthians, chapter 13

"Any man over the age of 50 is responsible for his face" - Abraham Lincoln.

Education

Magna Cum Laude, BA - Journalism - University of Maryland

Nominated to Phi Kappa Alpha Honor Society

    Awarded "Semester In Spain" scholarship

Military experience

Honorable Discharge - US Marine Corps

Proven Leadership and consistent top-level performance under adverse conditions in the best military organization in the world.

Specialties - counter-terror, nuclear security ops, demolitions. All positions required a high degree of personal reliability and integrity.

Platoon Leader at Parris Island - It was here I was given the opportunity to wear the dress blue uniform at graduation... or give it up for one of my squad leaders who had 3 children so he could make more money. It was a no-brainer, and I was still the Guide and still got my blues after being selected for special duty later on. So, the short end of a long story is that my squad leader, Upham, got the blues and made more money initially, and I slept well knowing I bit it for a brother and still did well. THAT is living large!
